PolyGone conducts milestone first field test with the Willistown Conservation Trust (12/11/2021)

PolyGone is excited to announce a partnership with the Willistown Conservation Trust, a group dedicated to researching and preserving land and water quality in the Willistown, PA area. Together, we recently achieved the first field test of our microplastic capture device!

One of the WCT’s goals is to accurately measure the levels of microplastic in the creeks and streams that feed into the Delaware River. They found that microplastic counts in these rural streams are much higher than expected. This spells trouble for more-urban streams, where the dumping and transit of plastic pollution is expected to be much higher than in rural waterways.

The partnership allows us to test our microplastic capture technology in the field, with experts of the waterway. PolyGone met with a member of the WCT to tour the Ashbridge nature preserve, assess local creeks, and perform our first field test of the Plastic Hunter device.
